About motorcycles all over the world.
Check the pages for various bikes that you might like.
Today we are starting off with a
Honda Goldwing from back in 1980.
The bike was made in Japan and has been altered. You might not see the difference.Notice the water bottle holder on the left handle bar!
After selling the bike I learned more about it than what I knew before because it was my first Goldwing.
Someone had removed some of the air pump elements in the rear of the bike but it still ran like any regular Goldwing.
I never knew the difference thinking that it was like it should be.
It is a great bike but you have to be tall enough to reach the ground with your feet just about flat on the ground when you stop because it is heavy - about 800 - 875 lbs.
When you are trying to hold up that much weight it is simple enough when it is straight up. as long as your legs are long enough to lay your feet down pretty much flat on the ground.
If you stop in a turn, the weight shifts to one side and you are holding all of the weight as well as the weight of you and your passenger up and the more the angle is the more weight you will have to deal with until you drop the bike.
Start to add the pounds up and you will see why you have to be tall enough to hold it up.
A Honda Goldwing from back in 1980 is a dream to ride on the highway as the weight and the power of the engine in this case 1100 cc's gives it all the strength that you would need to pass any normal driver and keep out of the way of the crazy ones at the last minute if need be.
The seats are so comfortable that you can ride more than 800 miles in one day stopping to gas up now and then and let's say to grab a bite to eat.
It is a very quiet bike when the motor is running as compared to most other copmpany's motorcycles engines and muffler systems.. It uses a drive shaft rather than a chain or belt for power to the wheel.
The trip was to go to the Woodstock area museum called the Bethel Woods museum and see a concert called the Hippiefest that was going on there.
This pic is near a lake in a nearby town.
